Spina Bifida is a condition where the neural tube of an infant does not form properly or close all the way before birth. Spina Bifida occurs among 1 in every 2,875 U.S. births each year. Charlie Clegg was born with Spina Bifida and he and his family are now advocates for the Spina Bifida Association. Charlie shared how the condition affects his everyday life, which includes creating challenges walking meaning he must use a wheelchair some of the time. His mother Nicole shared how the family has dealt with his condition, which was discovered prior to his birth. The pair provided information on the upcoming Spina Bifida Association “Walk’n’Roll” event coming up on Saturday, September 12th in Goose Creek. They shared what we be taking place at the event, the importance of getting community support and invited everyone to participate and raise money for the cause.
