SEGMENT #2: Life Center Church
GUEST: Nicholas Gourdine, Servant Leader
ISSUE: Child Abuse
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. To help create awareness, and make a positive difference in the community, the Life Center Church is hosting Stomp Out Child Abuse: A Lowcountry Step Show and College Fair April 26 at Fort Dorchester High School. Nicholas Gourdine, a servant leader at Life Center Church explained the reasoning behind hosting a step show. The Church deals with children who have been or are being abused, which most children find difficult to discuss. Hosting the show helps these children be involved with others their age group, who they are more likely to open up to. Gourdine explained the college fair is used to show these children can still have the same opportunities at life as their peers. Plus, the event will also include a panel discussion featuring area experts.
