The Charleston Radio Group is proud to be a part of the 35th Annual Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival presented by Harris Teeter and East Cooper Medical Center.

The Sunday, April 24 festival is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year! Paying tribute to Mount Pleasant’s local shrimping and fishing industry, the Festival is from 11 AM until 5 PM in the beautiful Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park.

If you love shrimp, this is the place to be. Bring your entire family to enjoy the boat parade which includes the ceremonial blessing of the shrimp/fishing fleet, live music, a craft show and lots of fun, free activities. Admission and activities are free!

Here’s this year’s Blessing schedule:

  • 11:00A –  Soul Fish
  • 12:30P –  National Anthem, Mayor’s Welcome
  • 12:50P –  Blessing Procession on Pier
  •  1:00P –  Boat Parade & Blessing of the Fleet
  •  2:00P –  East Coast Party Band
  •  3:30P –  Shrimp Eating Contest presented by Gilligan’s Seafood Restaurant
  •  4:00P –  Bowers Beach Boogie Dance Competition presented by Harris Teeter

This year’s blessing ceremony will be broadcast live on 92.5 Kickin’ Country!

Come hungry and enjoy savory seafood samplings sold by some of Mount Pleasant’s best restaurants. And remember, #JustAsk where your seafood came from before you buy! Support local and wild caught to support your fishermen…nothing beats Wild American Shrimp!
