Mosquito Magnets

Scientists think they figured out why some people are mosquito magnets.  They’re attracted to a specific acid in skin oil.  Some of us produce more of it, and there’s not much you can do.

Some were 100 times more attractive to them than others.  And they all had one thing in common.  The oil in the person’s skin had more of something called “carboxylic acid.”  (car-bock-SILL-ick)

It’s an acid that helps keep our skin moisturized and protected, and some people just produce more of it.  Humans can’t really smell it, but mosquitos can.

The study found changing your diet or showering more doesn’t make a difference.  So if mosquitos love you, they might always love you.

Emily’s Way Benefit

You are invited to a fundraiser to celebrate the life of Bryan’s sister, a mother, our friend, and my mothers daughter, Emily. She was only 30 years old and had 2 children. As most of you know my sister was taken from us far too soon by someone that should have never been free to harm anyone. Emily was an advocate for those in need.

We will continue her work by raising funds to help those in need and recovery. Please join us for a top shelf open bar and buffet. Reds will have live music afterwards. Big thanks to Reds icehouse for making this a possibility.

Tickets to the even can be purchased at the time of the event or via Venmo (Bryan-Jordan-10)for $100. Simply show your Venmo transaction for a wrist band. There will only be 40 tickets available.
