June 17: Emanuel Nine Website, Joey Benton Eagle Scout Project, & Liquid Bandaid

Emanuel Nine Website

It’s been five years since the horrific act that affected everyone in our city happened. After years of planning and raising money for a permanent memorial to honor the  Emanuel Nine, the Mother Emanuel Memorial Foundation Board revealed a new memorial website. From donations to the Emanuel Nine Memorial to donations to victims’ foundations, you can now visit emanuelnine.org

Joey Benton Boy Scout Eagle Scout Project

I have known Joey since he was 4 years old and now here is driving, becoming an Eagle Scout, and making a difference in the world. For his project he is creating 50 backpacks filled with comfort items for foster children in South Carolina. He’s been partnering with SC Department of Social Services (DSS) to identify the needs for the foster children.

Liquid Band Aid

Last night I was slicing veggies on my mandalin for my cauliflower crust pizza and sliced my finger. Of course it’s on the tip so it’s hard to cover with a band aid so I used liquid band aid. This stuff is the jam! Plus it’s fun to peel off once your wound is healed.

But the pizza was delicious so it was totally worth it
