Disneyland welcomes its 1 billionth guest – a boy celebrating his 8th birthday
Andres Robles and his parents, Alejandra and Jose Robles, were invited to participate in a ceremony on the Main Street, U.S.A., train station platform.
Andres and his family unveiled an updated sign at Disneyland that reads, “Population 1,000,000,000.”
They also received a VIP tour that included Walt Disney’s private apartment and the Soarin’ Across America attraction.
Disneyland first opened its gates on July 17, 1955.
The 22nd Annual Sweetgrass Festival is happening Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Memorial Waterfront Park, bringing together sweetgrass basket makers, artists, live entertainment, cultural education, handmade goods, and family-friendly activities.
This free festival celebrates the history, traditions, and artistry of the Gullah Geechee people, while spotlighting the sweetgrass basket-making legacy that continues to shape Mount Pleasant and the Lowcountry.
