I WAS JUST TALKING ABOUT THIS WITH Mickie Nommensen Neil Nommensen & Steven Rudnicki this weekend!
And of course Taco Bell made it happen!
For one weekend next month, Taco Bell is creating a retirement community for YOUNG people near San Diego called “The Cantinas.” Activities include pickleball, croquet, painting classes, and knitting circles. They even encourage NAPS!

For one weekend next month, Taco Bell is creating a retirement community for YOUNG people near San Diego called “The Cantinas.”  Activities include pickleball, croquet, painting classes, and knitting circles.

It’ll only be open for one weekend, on August 17th and 18th.

They’re trying to attract more Gen Z customers by leaning into “grandmacore.”  A lot of young people think old-people stuff is cool now.

They’ve got day passes for $50.  Or for $150, you get lodging for two nights, plus an “elevated” Taco Bell dining experience, and access to various old-people activities.

As Berklee College of Music professor and forensic musicologist Joe Bennett notes, the February release is "a fair bit slower than the mean average for the Hot 100, or for a historical song of the summer."
