About the Show

Portion of Proceeds to Benefit CMA Foundation Music Education Initiatives & Shawn Jenkins MUSC Carolyn G. Rucker Nursing Scholarship Program

Charleston’s own Darius Rucker will return to the Holy City for a special one-night-only event, the Darius Rucker Big Band Gala. The gala performance offers fans a rare opportunity to experience Rucker in an elevated, intimate concert setting backed by the Robert Lewis Orchestra, conducted by Peter Graves, creating a distinctive evening tailored to the Gaillard Center stage.

A portion of proceeds will benefit the CMA Foundation’s music education initiatives for Charleston County Schools and the Shawn Jenkins MUSC Carolyn G. Rucker Nursing Scholarship Program, continuing Rucker’s longstanding commitment to giving back to the community that raised him.

“These big band shows are some of my favorite nights as it’s the only time I get to perform so many of the standards we all grew up listening to with the backing of such an incredible orchestra,” offers Rucker. “It’s all to benefit incredible non-profit work locally.”
