Get to know Brooke Ryan from #2GG
Charleston is my favorite city in the entire world. I grew up in Bakersfield, CA, got my first full-time radio job in Knoxville, TN and worked in DC for 4 years. But there is nothing like living in the Lowcountry. Somebody cue Julie Andrews (or Ariana Grande’s sample on Thank U, Next) because these are a few of my favorite things… in CHS.
This is what you see when you fly into our beautiful city.
90% of the year the view looks like pic on the left…but every once in a while (like the winter of 2018) we get a photo like the one on the right.
There is always something to do! Seriously. The events are happening every weekend. From Charleston Wine and Food to the Bridge Run to Charleston Pride. If you are bored, it’s your own fault. Grab a City Paper or head to HolyCitySinner.com and plan your week/weekend.
And of course…BILL MURRAY LIVES HERE! It’s not a rarity to strike up a conversation with a stranger at a bar and share a Bill Murray moment. Here is mine…

Tracee Ellis Ross is starting to notice the small things that bring her happiness: The satisfying click of a curling iron, say, or the taste of olives. It's sort of her job right now. The actor and producer is making her Broadway debut starting Tuesday in "Every Brilliant Thing," one of the more uplifting and joyful plays this summer, even if it delves into the subject of depression.
